Part One: Conversation One

Standard

(draft)

The first conversation:

[Intro them as italics? Need an intro? E.g.—Late afternoon sun subdues the table. Sipping green tea with lemon, staring out the window at the empty hummingbird feeder swinging in a random breeze, thinking nothing. The idea of a book is kicking around the back of my head, repeatedly knocking at the sturdy main door back there. I know that knock because I’ve written with those intruders before, that collection of sometimes-raucous, usually pushy energy sources that come from beyond the mind. My first time was Jumping: a Novel, written as contemporary fantasy, containing some appalling, even shocking events and activities I never would have written about on my own (Hampton Roads, 2014). I threw caution to the wind and answered the door that time, half falling, half jumping into the void that gaped before me. I was in there a while. They’re knocking again, and I go, warily but apparently none the wiser, to answer the door. I stand in the twilight of the back of my mind, hand on the solid brass, engraved egg-and-dart design door handle, feeling the door’s give to their knock. Holding my breath, I ease the door open outwards into their space, and before having time to catch breath, something encircles my hand, pulling it from the door knob and pulling me into the darkness.]

To write a book like this takes courage. We know that. To tell everyone that the sky is indeed falling when they’ve already received enough bad news lately is inviting them to shoot the messenger—metaphorically or literally. But the telling must be done. I think we’re all agreed on that. And that it must be done now, because soon it will be too late. The water will be under the bridge and the swimmers will have lost their chance to be saved. So we write, mock us though some might. Because souls are at stake. Make no mistake. This, Elizabeth, is indeed the big one.

It’s been a long time coming, with lots of harbingers, some of whom were mobbed, drowned, burned, beheaded, or simply mocked. Some even all of the above, according to custom. Messages from other dimensions about the poor state of life in this one are seldom well received. If the message is lucky, it is remarked upon but then typically consigned to the heap of things read and heard and nothing more.

But the times are changing. The messages have cumulatively borne fruit and fewer are discarding them. The messages have become united—common to all of even the most respected messengers. And they’ve reached apocalyptic proportions, describing a global shift in consciousness that no one will escape.

What to do?

This book proposes that this is a shift to be welcomed. In fact, it relies on your full participation, because its purpose is to save the world from itself, transforming it into the world it is meant to be. It will do this by shifting each and every one of us willing to be shifted into our fuller potential. It comes to remove all the attachments—familial, cultural, educational overlays on our attention that living in this limited way has given us, clearing the obstructions from our identity. Then we can see and act on our own potential for what it is—unlimited. There will be no more “veil” obscuring one dimension from another, because you will have transcended it.

How will you do this?

What exactly is this shift that’s upon you?

In the next chapters, you will see what’s to be done if you want to participate. As others have said, you can’t take your baggage with you. Your collection of emotional wounds, scarring, litanies of wrongs—your emotional history that you wear like a red badge of courage for surviving, holds you in a bondage of being so much less than you really are. It all must be released.

Since it was gained in your experience with the world, there can be strategies of the world to release it. Nowadays, we also have strategy that bridges where you are now and where you want to go. We’re not speaking of esoteric or exotic ceremonies or religious practices. We’re speaking of reviewing your own collection of experiences, judgments, responses, and reactions while deciding what no longer serves you and your well-being. You release it all in favor of what promotes your freest, most unlimited forward movement.

So, it becomes clearer that each of you is the creator and navigator of your own shift, should you choose to be. And the movement of each of you generates the movement of the world. You are the shift—we are all the shift. But it is guaranteed it will happen—it is already happening around you—with or without your notice, your permission, your consent, or your approval.

If you don’t choose to participate?

The shift will leave you behind, with the world you have. The world as it is, to go where it will. For those who participate, their world will be different than yours. Do we speak of two worlds? No. We speak of two consciousnesses. Each group will be conscious of and participate in the world in its own chosen way.

Perhaps you’ve heard it said, ad nauseum some say, that we create our own reality. This is always the truth. If you choose to participate in the shift, the reality you and others create for yourselves will be the one that has shifted. This will be the one you see yourselves living in with emotional baggage removed, along with all its drama and trauma, projections and reactions. It will be a much more peaceful, cooperative, harmonious place, because you will be so. If you choose not to participate, you will continue to view and react to the world through the overlays of your own emotional history, as it directs and controls your perspective.

This is the nature of the shift. Will you, with the uniqueness born of your own essence, experience, and expression, direct the creation of your reality? Or will the unquestioned influences of self-established hierarchies of authorities, experts, and institutions do it for you? It’s as simple and as profound as that. Your choice.

You remove the constraints and allow a perspective to emerge, trusting in its spontaneous order and trusting in its rightness for you. Otherwise, it is not your creation but the makings of untold others who subsume your perspective into theirs, depriving you of the chance to choose for yourself.

A tall order!

Yes, indeed. But it’s what we’re all here for, what we’ve always been here for. Now, we’ve come into a time that asks us to recognize and accept this shift as our purpose and meaning. We must decide if it feels right for us and if we’re up to what it asks of us.

. . . . .

Is this book channeled?

That’s the first question I’d be asking if I were reading it. Where is the material that’s not identified as from the author coming from? Having read what’s considered some of the best channeled material and spiritual exposition that’s out there for many years, I’m looking for that kind of truth, unfiltered. The material, the claims being made, require that kind of authority. I don’t want to waste my time on opinion or simple rants.

Is this book channeled? It sort of is. You decide.

The truth is, these words came from what I loosely call my knowers. The words came following a train of thought I’d been having about this world-wide Shift I was reading about at all my favorite spiritual sites.

The words came. Then I had questions, ideas and connections to go with them.

Why do I say sort of channeled? I agree with Robert Weiss, who has been a channeler for more than thirty years (theteachingsofmichael.com, 2019 Predictions). His source, Michael, says, “We’re not offering a channeled message; we’re offering a relationship.” Our “sources” are our more expanded, therefore more knowing selves, to be sure, but they are talking to us in relationship, as partners, without the hierarchy of being “higher” and “lower.” Robert describes it as “co-existence,” that back door of the mind always open (“The Master Doer,” 1/2019).

Others agree the relationship is meant to be an open partnership (Brunton), leaving free will alive and well, and participating in what becomes an exchange, rather than a more formal deposit of information.

The truth is, I feel the partnership, and I believe it’s a harbinger of the Shift. They’re supplying the content, the knowing that we don’t have. I’m supplying exactly what I’m supposed to—impressions and understandings of this life, where the rubber hits the road. I do think my knowers need a “real-life” contact for a successful communication loop to occur. That’s my part of the partnership. I’m meant to question and be sparked to other ideas and connections. I ground their words here, giving others a chance at them. That’s what I believe. Either that or, as Jim Self (masteringalchemy.com) says, I can continue to argue for my own limitations.

The truth is, this book is written in a collaborative format, to illustrate what is meant, in part, by the change in consciousness brought about by the Shift.

Is this book meant to scare us?

Yes.

The truth is, many, if not most, if not all, of our most trusted spiritual sources tell us we’re in the midst of a global, apocalyptic shift in consciousness that is transforming us to our core.

It would be harder to find serious, experienced sources who aren’t talking of a shift.

“Now, dear ones, you’re still here at the end times when there’s likely to be a lot of challenges on your planet . . . For the most part, you will have an opportunity to step into an entirely new realm, a whole new way of thinking in a new energy” (Steve Rother and the Group, Beacons of Light, November 20, 2018).

“…the process of individualization reaches an extreme limit. Such a limit has now been reached by the human race generally. The unfoldment of its latent possibilities through the medium of separateness can go no farther, except it be to go toward utter self-destruction. Therefore the evolutionary impulse has begun to turn it away from its present excessive pitch of individuation and to direct it toward the ideal of union, both with its source and with the rest of its kind…We have indeed reached the most tremendous spiritual turning point in humanity’s long history…We have been walking perilously close to a precipice…Society has been sick for a long time and has passed into a dangerously critical state. It must better itself or else make way for a better one…” (The Wisdom of the Overself, Vol. 2, Paul Brunton, 2015, pp 246-7).

“We are in a time of deep change,” Gary Zukav wrote thirty years ago, in The Seat of the Soul, his international best seller. “We are evolving from a species that pursues power based upon the perceptions of the five senses—external power—into a species that pursues authentic power—power that is based upon the perceptions and values of the spirit” (25th anniversary edition, 2007, book jacket).

“The Universe is currently moving all of us through an upgrade cycle and identity shift that is inescapable…Your future is calling you forward to something greater or bigger than you have yet experienced. And when you can step into that, you become a bold transformer, not only for yourself but also for others” (leeharrisenergy.com, October Update, 2018).

“It is important for us to know about this shift to a new dimension because we are in the middle of it now, and its culmination is coming soon” (dolorescannon.com, 2015).

“You’re the masters of the game board, dear ones, you are awakening from the dream” (espavo.org, Beacons of Light, Nov 2018).

“Earth is going through tremendous changes, and is in the process of shedding many of its old and ancient energies and memories … it seeks a higher frequency to which it can anchor itself … We, too, are doing this.” (Sharon, “Season’s Greetings,” 12/23/18).

“Peace is only possible in shift of identity to awareness beyond mind.” – Deepak Chopra, MD. (You Are the Universe, 2017).

“. . . the paradigm of science is changing from the primacy of matter to the primacy of consciousness.” (Amit Goswami, Ph.D., Theoretical Quantum Physicist, author of The Everything Answer Book and Quantum Economics).

I could go on, but you get the idea. Is it meant to scare us? I think so! It is meant to get our attention for sure.

Even if you see change as ultimately positive, big change like this asks us to welcome the unknown, to trust in it. The shift opens the door to a merging of our own awareness with our more expanded knowledge–a merging in physical reality of this world’s awareness with that of the awareness of the next world, for the first time.

I came across this perspective on change, from a physician: “The danger of going through change without allowing ourselves to truly experience it is that transition through change may not actually occur. If we are too uncomfortable to stay the course through transition, too anxious to fix the problem, we may lose the message and its accompanying transformative effect. Change without transition may only serve to recreate old scenarios and reinforce old patterns of behavior. For change to have a salutary effect on us, we need to learn to effectively work with it and not to run the other way when it presents itself” (Abigail Brenner, MD, Transitions: How Women Celebrate Change and Embrace Life, 2010).

My knowers would say we’re serving creation by being here now, helping life to continue through our expanded awareness.

Aren’t you excited?

Why is it taking so long?!

Where do you come in?

“. . . you have to make your own rules or live by somebody else’s.” –Joseph Kennedy

This book is being written for you and me, people who think of ourselves as more spiritual than religious, people who believe in and have probably had (and/or whose loved ones have had) experiences of a paranormal or psychic nature, people who know there’s something beyond the prescribed notions of reality. We’re less nailed down.

I’ve heard it said that every religion began with a miracle of some sort—a burning bush or the disembodied speaking (The Book of Miracles)—witnessed by what becomes a band of people who now believe. So there have always been people who know, who build their lives, at least in part, at least in the beginning, on things outside the mainstream, on things created from their own knowing.

This book wants to sustain that tradition. It wants to give us a chance to have the expanded awareness that can allow us to know how and when to make and live by our own rules. To see when rules are called for and why. To allow the experiences we’ve had or witnessed, the things we’ve seen or heard or felt play into the mix.

It’s giving us a chance to throw caution to the wind (which I’m a big fan of) and see what happens, as opposed to already knowing the mundane outcome.

[more about my audience, as in proposal?]

What is this transition time?

In the past, most of us lived within a mainframe of beliefs given to us by religions. We had our experiences, through consciousness: the senses, thought, or dreams, imagination, inspiration, epiphanies, apparitions, etc. Religion then told us how to understand the products of consciousness and what to do with them. They also told us that consciousness was not the end of the story and gave us a framework for thinking beyond that door at the back of our heads.

According to public opinion polls (like Pew), people have generally abandoned religion nowadays. Forty-nine percent of people consider themselves spiritual rather than religious, for example. Eighty-two percent have had some sort of psychic experience themselves. More believe in past-life experiences or that their deceased loved ones live on and can even communicate with them.

For some this is exhilarating, for some frightening, and for others, natural. But there is no common framework to contain these experiences, to give us a shared understanding of what they are and mean and what to do with them.

I’m exhilarated. I like the idea that none of this has been institutionalized yet, and we’re on our own. As one channeler’s sources say, “How else is chaos to be contained, save in form? How else is growth to occur, save in the breaking of form?” (DeMarco, 2/14/19). But they also say we have “a transitory freedom of exploration that has its advantages and disadvantages.” Whatever glimpse we get of the understanding that passes consciousness, they suggest, “is precious, but incomplete; infinitely valuable, but misunderstood and not very communicable.” Here’s what I find exciting:

In times between eras, times between myths, times between religions – in times when the Gods have left their former habitations and have not yet had new houses built for them by man – in your time, in other words, you can see this inability to comprehend the infinite. The times between gods (if you care to look at it that way) allow people to see between the cracks and remember how little we ever see. Later, when we are worshipping the gods in these new houses, we will find it easier to forget that still we do not see them face to face.

. . . This should serve as a reminder that the fact that you do not know is actually a good thing, for it merely means that for the moment you are awake to a reality that persists but is forgotten. You can never know at any absolute level. Given that you cannot know if pink looks to your neighbor as it does to you, can you expect to compare visions of the formless? There is no harm, and much use, in making such comparisons provided that you remember the limits to your certainties. But it is precisely this remembering that you will find very hard to do. The continual recurring temptation will be to fall into certainty or to cease to explore.

So here’s our chance to see more, to know more, to understand more, for ourselves. To realize “that the fact that you do not know is actually a good thing.” You may not want to be such a thrill seeker out in uncharted consciousness, but in honor of full disclosure, I want you to know I am and that’s really why this book can be and is being written.

Two final notes.

I don’t change or edit the knowers portion of the conversation. Sometimes I want to. The first conversation included an aside: “This, Elizabeth, is indeed the big one.” I was startled by this reference to the old sitcom “Sanford and Son,” something they must have dredged from the deep back corners of my memory banks. I wanted to edit it out, but it was a reminder to me that the knowers will do as they will and that they have a sense of humor (such as it is).

They do not want to be thought of as gloom and doom merchants.

Second, but related. The knowers realize they are coming into a time of vast gloom and doom. [no accident, related. It is the present state of thought and the attendant brainwashing/unquestioned acceptance of and acting on that has gotten us here, is the reason for the Shift, though they are not here to comment or pass judgment on that. It stays as our backdrop, the illustration of the cause.]
